The WH-1II is intended to be used in in-wall installations as a volume controller for PA / public address systems using 70V / 100V line speaker setups.

Because of its override capability, in emergencies or special signals the controller can be overridden to allow higher priority audio

(e.g. emergency announcements) to pass through regardless of its setting.
